The time is here again where we reflect on the season and purpose of Good Friday. To Christians, it’s a day of loss and grief for their Lord. A figure who is worshiped and glorified throughout the year. This is also a day of “sacrifice”.
Many of us throughout the year feel pain, emotionally and some physically through disease and strife. Can any of us really feel the pain that Christ felt on this day and most importantly, the pain that was felt for us? The ridicule and to use today’s term, bullying on the path of Via Dolorosa (Latin ~ Path of Grief) and the Old Street of Jerusalem.
How many Christians would raise their hand and say, “I’ll go Jesus. You stay here”?
